Fireworks

The children got very creative making lots of different firework pictures, using a variety of materials such as paint, slime, cornflour and glitter.  The older children also made their own sparklers using melted chocolate, breadsticks, sprinkles and then added a star at the end.

The children took part firstly having a story explaining all about Remembrance day and meaning of it. We then took part in activities making our own Poppy’s

The children took part in lots of creative activities, we went on a walk around our community and shared lots of stories about the festival of lights.

We had a Carnival party to celebrate Black history month 2024, we had such an amazing day we all wore our carnival t-shirts that we designed ourselves.  We made lots of carnival props to dance and sing with as we partied with our friends at Orchard house.

 

We made an amazing hut that we would wear our crowns and wands, we felt very special, we even talked about all the Kings and Queens of Africa, looking at the world globe and artifacts about them all, we learnt so much.

 

Also the amazing parents cooked lots of different foods for us to taste and explore. It really was an amazing day at nursery.

Today the children had a session with the dentist. We spoke about how to brush our teeth properly, the foods that are good and bad for our teeth.  We then got to practise using our toothbrushes and mirrors with the different puppets. We then ended the session with a lovely story which the dentist read.

Our topic is about people that help us this term, on Tuesday 24th of September we took a group of children to the local fire station.

This was so much fun, we had a full tour of the fire station, we all had a turn to sit in the fire engine. We also got to use the hose which was so much fun and we were all very excited.

We fed the fish at the station and got to meet the wonderful fire people and they also had an emergency call just for us so we could see what happens when there is a real fire.

We had an amazing time and thank you for having us. We were told that we were the best behaved nursery that had ever visited.

Our Rabbits Peter and Benjie

Our rabbit Peter and Benjie have been with us for 5 years and are part of the Orchard house nursery. They are very good with the children and love to have lots of attention when running around the garden at play time. We love them lots!!!!!
